Growing up singing along to the music greats like Simphiwe Dana, Aretha Franklin, Brenda Mthombo, Thandiswa Mazwai and Bob Marley helped me discover my Singing and Acting talent when I was aged 10. Fast forward to 2010, I was pursuing a career in Theatre Arts at Bambatha centre which was directed by Stix Mhlanga. Through Music, Dance and Theatre, my career blossomed as I got a chance to learn more about music and the arts industry through working with various talented groups and bands like, Intombi Zomqangala, Umkhathi Theatre works, Men at Work Jazz band, One Stand Band, Defined House, Bulawayo Knights, amongst many others. The biggest highlight for my career was touring , USA, Russia, Germany, Austria, South Africa and Ivory coast, where I managed to harness the diverse Musical Cultures and fuse them with my Style of music, which you can hear on my Singles Album that I released in 2019

AWARD winning performing artiste Qeqeshiwe Mntambo says it’s high time she takes up her passion of being a jazz musician as she re-launches her solo musical career.

Three years ago, Qeqe, a former dancer with Sandra Ndebele’s Intombi Zomqangala announced her arrival in the music scene with a house music hits Phumakimi and Hlanyis’ Umoya.

This in turn opened doors for her as she performed at the annual Kalawa Homecoming gig in that year under the Defined House label.

After that Qeqe went under the radar and only resurfaced last year as part of an all female band, One Stand that comprised her and the pint sized Dube twins Novuyo and Ntombi.
